This is an entry division for first and second year player’s ages 4-5 years old. Players are introduced to hitting, throwing and fielding. Batters hit the ball off of a ball stand known as a "Tee" and run the bases. There is no pitching to batters and the balls used at this level are softer than in higher divisions. Everyone plays and no scores are kept. There are no tryouts - players are randomly placed on teams. Parent requests to team specific players together will be honored to the extent possible. Please indicate request when registering. There is one practice and one game per week.

Players ages 6 – 7 years old are introduced to more advanced practice drills and fundamental baseball strategy. Players are coach-pitched in this division with a similar but slightly harder than the ball used in T-Ball. Everyone plays, no scores are kept and there are no tryouts. Players are randomly placed on teams. There is one practice and one game per week. Parent requests to team specific players together will be honored to the extent possible. Please indicate request when registering.

Players ages 7 – 9 are focused on the fundamentals and mechanics of hitting, throwing and fielding - preparing them for the more competitive play in the Minor or Majors divisions. This division allows kids to pitch for the first three innings and then utilizes coach pitch for the remainder of each game. Scores are kept for each game. There is a 5 run rule per inning (except last inning).  There is no base stealing. Players are drafted onto a team for the season based on the pre-season evaluations in January.  There is a postseason double elimination playoff & Championship Game. All teams make the playoffs. Players may be “called up” during the season to play on a Minors team to fill vacancies. There are usually 1-2 practices and two games a week.

This is a more competitive division. The majority of players in this division are 9 and 10 years old, along with a few 8 year old's with advanced skills. All 11 year-olds not drafted onto a Majors division team will be drafted into the Minors Division. More advanced fundamentals of hitting, throwing, and fielding are emphasized with the goal of reaching a skill level that prepares them for the Majors division level. Players pitch to hitters. Base stealing is allowed. All players bat and must play a minimum of 3 innings in the field. There is a 5 run rule per inning (except last inning). Players go through a pre-season evaluation and are drafted onto teams by the managers. Those players not drafted onto a Minors team may be drafted onto a AAA team. Players may be “called up” to the Majors prior to, or during the season to fill vacancies. Scores and standings are kept. All Minors teams participate in a postseason double elimination playoff tournament that extends up to two weeks (depending upon your team’s success) beyond the end of the regular season.

This is the most competitive division of Little League baseball. The majority of players in this division are 11 and 12 years old, along with any 10 year-olds with advanced skills. A 9 year old with very advanced skills may play in Majors only with parental and league approval. Major division teams draft players after the pre-season evaluations in January. Once a player is drafted onto a Majors division team, the player remains on that team for one year. The Majors division selects for skill, attitude and team need and are not required to draft any specific age group. Kids who are 10, 11 and 12 who are drafted must play on the team they are drafted onto. 11 year-olds not drafted onto a Majors Division team will be drafted onto a Minors team. Additional players may be “called up” prior to or during the season to fill vacancies.

The PLL Juniors Spring Program is for players who have aged out of the Little League Majors Division and still want to play local baseball. It is for 13 and 14 year-olds and it offers the challenge of pitching from 54 feet and running/throwing to bases that are 80 feet apart. Leads and steals are allowed. Games are played locally and against other Juniors teams throughout District 52. District 52 stretches from Pacifica to Palo Alto and some games would require travel to Peninsula field sites. There are typically 2 practices in the pre-season and one when the season starts. Typically there are 2 games a week from March through May.
